Applying For a Grant 

The Unrestricted Grant Program

The Foundation's Unrestricted Grant Program supports projects that strengthen Jewish life in British Columbia.

Before you apply, make sure your project fits our Grant Guidelines . If it does, here's exactly how the process works.

Step 1

Letter of Intent

A short outline of your project, no more than two pages. Use plain, everyday language; you don't need grant-writing experience to apply.

Include:

  • Your organization's name and charitable registration number
  • The need or community priority your project addresses
  • A concise description of what you'll actually do
  • Who will benefit, and how
  • Start and completion dates
  • Total project cost and the amount you're requesting from us
  • How you'll know if the project succeeded

Grant Application

(Only if you're invited to apply after September 1st.)

A few things to know before you submit:

  • Applications must be typed — handwritten submissions aren't accepted.
  • Submit by the deadline included in your invitation.
  • The Grant Distribution Committee reviews all applications, then submits its recommendations to the Foundation's Governors for final approval.
  • You'll be notified in writing of your grant status.
For families impacted by substance use disorder, isolation can be one of the greatest barriers to healing. Through Family Circle, we are creating a safe and compassionate space where families can connect, learn, and support one another. The Foundation’s unrestricted grant funding has made it possible for JACS to pilot this program and respond directly to a growing community need.
