Grant Guidelines

The Unrestricted Grant Program

The Foundation's Unrestricted Grant Program supports projects that strengthen Jewish life in British Columbia.

Funded through the generosity of donors who have entrusted the Foundation to respond to emerging needs and opportunities, these grants help bring new ideas to life, expand community services, support innovation, and invest in projects that create meaningful impact.

The program complements Federation's annual allocation process by supporting initiatives that fall outside organizations’ regular operating budgets.

 

What we fund

Research, publications, and cultural initiatives that contribute to the development and preservation of Jewish life and heritage.

Innovative, experimental, or new projects that address emerging community needs and opportunities.

Scholarships related to Jewish services, education, professional development, and social and community activities which impact the local community.

4

New services, equipment, facilities, and special initiatives that extend beyond the scope of annual operating budgets.

5

Capital projects and infrastructure improvements that benefit the Jewish community locally, nationally or internationally and which have a direct relationship to the local community.

Ongoing operating costs

Fundraising campaigns

Debt or deficit reduction

4

Israel-based projects without a direct impact on the local community

Commercial or for-profit ventures

 

Grant amounts

Standard grants

up to $25,000

Capital projects

up to $75,000, disbursed over a maximum of three years ($25,000 per year)
